Paddle-back Earrings

• 1). Open the clip-on earrings, and find the center portion of the paddle-back lever.
  
  
• 2). Insert the tip of the tweezers gently under the center portion to raise it a little if the earrings are too loose. If the earrings are too tight, squeeze the center portion slightly to make it sit flatter against the rest of the paddle. Do not make big adjustments; a small change can significantly change the way the earrings fit.
  
  
• 3). Try on the earrings to assess the fit. Adjust the earrings again, if necessary.
  
  

Simple Hinged Clip Earrings

• 1). Open the earrings, and notice how they work. With this design, the back of each earring is on a hinge. The hinge holds a U-shaped piece of the earring back against the ear.
  
  
• 2). Loosen these earrings by widening the U-shape using the pliers. Tighten these earrings by pinching the U-shape narrower. Make very small adjustments with the pliers.
  
  
• 3). Try on the earrings to see if they feel better. Adjust the earrings again, if necessary.
