Hydraulic Fracturing - The Future of the Delaware River Watershed
This is an emergency! Drilling for fossil fuels will never solve our energy demands permanently, because there is not a permanent supply of fuel.
We are running on the earth's battery that took million's of years to charge.
Natural gas companies will campaign on TV to tell you that it is safe and the answer to our energy needs, because they will make money if they can convince us.
You will not see commercial against it because no one will make money by not drilling.
But we will have to pay for it in the end when we are buying our water! Fracture mining and our water supply.
To see the future we need to look into our past.
Our last "alternative" energy that was up and coming was ethanol, but we don't see this in the media any more.
For example, Chevy is no longer marketing their Flex Fuel vehicles.
Why? Well, the answer to this question does not lie in the challenges of the processing of ethanol or the environmental side effects...
which are a whole other topic that I will not get into here..
but ethanol is no longer marketed because using a food source as a fuel makes food prices go up.
Not everyone may believe this, but we can live without television, internet, cell phones, lights, and even cars, but we cannot live without food, air and water.
As a survival instructor I would teach the rules of 3: you can live for 3 minutes without air, 3 hours without clothes (at 32 degrees), 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food.
We made a mistake thinking ethanol would be the energy source of the future.
Fortunately this mistake was reversible, and did not incur a large cost.
However, damage to our water supply incurred by negligent natural gas drilling will not be as easily fixed.
The Delaware River Basin Commission here in Pennsylvania is poised to open up the Delaware River Basin for natural gas fracture drilling.
Whether you live here or not, first send the DRBC a letter asking to extend the public comment period, so that those of us who are downstream and otherwise connected to this massive watershed have a voice in the matter.
Keep in mind this area includes not only Pennsylvania but also New Jersey, New York City, Delaware and Maryland.
Second, pass this email on to everyone you know that has a connection with Pennsylvania.
Take Action Now: Tell the Delaware River Basin Commission the public needs to have a say in natural gas drilling rules.
The following link takes you to a template for the letter so you don't have to start from scratch.
If you can personalize the letter even better but be sure to send something, because according to the rule of 3's they plan on taking our clothes next.

5786 No matter if you are for or against drilling and using our natural resources, we need to make sure that it is done in a safe and effective manner.
The change starts with us! Conserving energy will make our country stronger no matter what type of energy we use.
We have the technology to conserve energy while having the same amenities.
If you are pro renewable energy make sure you choose an electrical supplier that offer renewable's and choose to be green.
