Parenting and the Sugar Rush Reward of Starbucks

Parents know better than to give their kids too much sugar.
One of the problems we have in today's school system is that the parents give these kids all kinds of sugar and then send them off to school.
Then once in the classroom they misbehave and the teacher has to deal with them.
This causes bad behavior, and it disrupts the classroom and learning.
It is actually hurting the education of the other children.
Due to the recession, schools have had to cut back on teacher's aides, and the classroom sizes are getting bigger.
You can see why this is becoming a serious issue.
Many of the kids that do not behave are now on Prozac and Ritalin and many of them do not necessarily need to be on those drugs.
Now there are children with real problems, and there may be times when they should be perhaps using some behavioral modification tricks from the pharmaceutical industry, but better parenting would probably do the trick most of the time.
One thing that parents need to stop doing is rewarding their kids with sugar products: "Behave Johnny, if you behave now mommy's going to take you to Starbucks and buy you a frappachino.
" Are you beginning to see the problems here? If we are using sugar products as a reward, as a prize, or something special and in the process we are elevating the status of these products and causing this children to want them more.
Not to mention the fact that humans, and most all mammals love sugar to begin with.
Indeed, it looks like parents are making a big mistake, and I'm wondering if the rest of our society is going to suffer for it.
There are all sorts of problems with juvenile diabetes, there are problems with behavior the classroom, and really too much sugar is not good for you anyway.
Please consider all this.
