How to Decorate With Daybeds
- 1). Decide on a spot for the daybed. Place it in a central location, like the middle of the wall you first see upon entering, if you want it to be the focal point. A daybed angled in the corner of the room also creates visual interest if the room is not too small.
- 2). Place tall side tables on wheels on either side of the daybed; the height ensures you can use them while sitting on the daybed. Wheel a table over to the front of the daybed for use as a nightstand when someone sleeps there. Also, accessorize with matching lamps.
- 3). Hang a canopy over the daybed that's made from sheer fabric like tulle. This lets in light and creates a whimsical appearance for both sitters and sleepers.
- 4). Select a theme for your daybed decor, whether it's a certain family of colors, a similar pattern or a decorating style. Use bedding and pillow designs that fit with the theme.
- 5). Accessorize the daybed with comfortable, large pillows that support the back when sitting. Include smaller side pillows you can use for lying down or sleeping.
- 6). Hang a picture or a family of pictures in an even pattern over the wall where the daybed sits. Use one long picture or a mirror that extends the length of the daybed, or hang one large picture in the center with one or two smaller pictures on either side.
