    • 1). Rake the grass clippings from the lawn and bag them in several plastic lawn bags. Divide each load so as to not leave any one bag too heavy for easy transportation.

    • 2). Spread the clippings on walking paths in your garden or other landscape. The clippings will protect your garden from the wear associated with foot traffic as well as provide nutrients to the soil.

    • 3). Contact a local nursery and find out if they accept clippings to be used as compost. Take the clippings to the nursery and sell or donate the load.

    • 4). Pile the grass clippings in an area on your property for compost. Composting is not an easy process. It takes many months of vigilant management and care to break the clippings and other materials you will need to add down to a nutrient-rich and valuable compost. If you are already composting, add the new grass clippings to your collection. If you are not familiar with home composting or up to the commitment of the process, choose another form of grass clipping disposal.
