First Class Vs. Business Class
- First class is becoming extinct as airlines compete to provide the highest quality business class. Business class has become the new first class on domestic flights with priority seating, better lounges and reclining seats.
- First-class seating is still available on some flights, providing a royal experience. Caviar, champagne and steak are your typical fare, with perks such as baggage porters and priority seating. Business class has become the traveler's friend. Focusing on expediency, comfort and usability, business class offers priority seating and check-in procedures, better food, and reclining seats.
- Price will always be a consideration, but many companies see sending their employees into business class as a good investment as it will minimize downtime with comfortable seating intended for sleeping, the potential for laptop usage and quick boarding and priority exits. First class is purely a luxury class of flying.
- Gone are the days of business class being only a step above economy class, with slightly more leg room and name-brand peanuts. Because business travelers are more consistent travelers with more specific needs, airlines have turned business class into a comfortable and productive means of travel for the frequent travelers.
- Though many travelers consider a first-class or business-class upgrade a good use of their frequent flier miles, completely negating any flexibility with changes of flight dates, or the long time frame in which you would need to arrange a flight often makes this usage difficult to manage.
