The annual American Academy of Pediatrics National Conference and Exhibition is an excellent forum to present new data, review old data, and allow for academic discussions to take place that ultimately have an impact on the care delivered to children throughout the world. This year's meeting was no exception, particularly in the area of infectious diseases. New modalities to treat old diseases dominated this year's sessions. The following discussion covers unique methods to treat diseases that have previously had either no treatment, poor treatment, or, in the case of pediatric sinusitis, inconsistent treatment.
