How to Service One HP Motors
- 1). Unscrew the single bolt holding the air filter cover to the side of the one horsepower engine with the proper sized socket. Pull out the dirty air filter and replace it with the new clean one. Tighten the cover back in place.
- 2). Pull the spark plug cap off the spark plug located on the front of the engine block. Unscrew the spark plug with the correct socket. Finger tighten the new spark plug in. Put the socket you used to unscrew the spark plug on the foot pound wrench. Tighten the spark plug in until the foot pound wrench meter reads 15 foot pounds. Push the spark plug cap back on the new spark plug.
- 3). Position the oil drain pan under the oil drain plug of the engine.
- 4). Unscrew the oil drain plug from the base of the engine or at the base of the oil dipstick with the proper sized socket -- which differs according to engine brand.
- 5). Allow all the old oil to drain out and tighten the oil drain plug back in.
- 6). Unscrew the oil dipstick and add SAE 30W oil to the engine. Occasionally insert the dipstick to ensure you just fill the oil to the full line on the dipstick. Tighten the oil dipstick back in once the oil level is to the full line.
