Minor/Quail/Pheasant? - 3/10/09 I phoned a clairvoyant on the 14th. I awoke to the sound of a minor (type of bird in NZ) tapping madly at the window, the 15th to a quail or pheasant doing the mating call I guess. Around 6am in the morning, no idea what any of it means yet but am googling like crazy. This morning we noticed a king fisher on our grape vine, he comes almost every year, sometimes 2 or 3 times.

Parrot Visits Desert Canyon - I have been having difficulties in my life for quite some time. I live out in a desert canyon and literally, a very rare type of parrot came down to my fountain and "adopted" us. I could not locate any owner. After reading about the animal totems and which animal presents" itself, I would say this bird has very much done that! ~cat

Small Birds - I took a nap today when I got home from school because I'm sick. I had a dream where there were about 11 small colorful birds with large yellow beaks in a cage. I had bought them for a friend but had to keep them for a few days. One of the birds was picked on by the others and always hid in a little enclosure to escape the others. I took it out of the cage and it would just ride on my shoulder or finger. At another point, I had fed the birds and they were fighting for the food I dropped in, but my outcast bird was safely with me and had its own food. I don't usually remember my dreams, but this one stuck by me.

I'm still trying to figure out what it means. ~ashes

Cardinals - I have a cardinal that has been pecking at my window for 6 months now if I get out of his sight he goes to other window to peck can anyone tell me what a cardinal would be trying to get my attention? ~pattypope

Birds - Ever since I was a little girl I have found that birds of all kinds cross my path. I used to find injured and sick birds all the time and take them home and nurse them. I also take a lot of photographs and have found that I accidently catch birds in mid-flight quite often. I am wondering if my animal could be a species rather than a particular kind of bird?

Releasing Caged Bird - I rarely remember any of my dreams, but about three years ago I had one so vivid and clear I will remember it always. I was in the process of divorcing my alcoholic, controlling husband and dreamt of a gorgeous, colorful bird that was locked in a cage. The cage was perched on a rocky outcrop in a range of mountains. As I approached the cage, I realized the bird had spent most of its life trying to escape its confinement. There were feathers all over the ground and it looked really disheveled. I cautiously opened the door and moved back to observe. It looked at me and then the opening that was right there in front of it, and in the blink of an eye, it was gone. Then I was seeing the surroundings through the bird's eyes and soaring through the sky. The dream affected me so deeply, I had a tattoo designed depicting the experience. Was this my totem? While it was a bird, it was not one that occurs in nature, it was more of a fantasy. ~craftymom367

Merlin Falcon - One morning while driving to church in the middle of a side street in Falmouth MA sat a Merlin Falcon. His wings were out stretched and hanging from its tongue was a beheaded squirrel. I stopped about three feet from him and we both just stared. He did not move at all, nor make a sound. We just stared at each other. I tried to get help and when I came back, he was gone. Not even a feather left behind. I am fortunate to be attuned to angels etc. But have no idea what this message could mean. Thank you if you could enlighten me. ~l.sanford

Buzzard Guide - I have a spirit totem that manifests into a buzzard when I go shopping. I meditate and pray to the creator of what I need or want and when the time is right a buzzard guides me to the right garage sale, pawn shop or store to find my items. Very cool a new thing for me as I develope my sith chakra/ sixth sense. I love my messengers and I know they love me. ~Ruth

Three Wild Turkeys - I was on my way from Richmond, VA to meet a woman in Williamsburg. We had never met before and agreed to explore the possibility of being in a relationship. As I was driving East on Interstate 64, three wild turkeys flew across the road in front of me from south to north. I believe they were all female. I was late getting to Williamsburg. We didn't get to eat at Chownings's Tavern as we had planned. The hostess suggested we go to Merchant's Square and eat at one of the modern restaurants, or we could go to "The Lodge" that lay behind one of the smaller colonial clapboard buildings. We ended up at The Williamsburg Lodge in front of a roaring fire in the lounge there eating delicious rosemary chicken salad sandwiches... In the recent past I became separated from my wife. The winter after we parted I would come home every day and a broad winged hawk would be perched on a branch above my back porch. I saw him as a guardian and he gave me hope in a difficult time. ~bunnyholmes

Finch - I have a finch picking at my windows all around the house, when I move from one room to another it also moves. He flies half way up the window and then back down onto the window sill. This happens 100s of times, I have a video of him on my phone, What is the message he is telling me (us). This is happening now for about a week. ~magsp

Crows - A few years back I stood near my bike on my street and I noticed this huge crow. I stared at it for a minute and then tried to walked towards it. It started walking towards me. I thought it was going to chase me so I got back on my bike and got away as quickly as I could. Now I notice that crows seem to follow me, I tend to see them in small flocks. Could this be my spirit guide? ~luna

Robin Totems - It all began about 2 weeks ago when a robin hung on my window ledge and stared at me for 5 to 10 minutes as I laid on the bed. Then about a week later I heard a noise like someone chopping wood and discovered she was repeatedly slamming herself into the front window. I was concerned that she may hurt herself so phoned a medium friend who told me that it was a message from the other side and I should talk calmly to the bird and tell her I had received the message to be careful and that I didn't quite understand and asked for some clarity. The next morning I found a Kleenex under my pillow. Now she stops by and hits the window around 5 in the morning and does not leave until I come and say hello. She waits for me on the railing of the step and does not leave until I appear and acknowledge her. I do not know fully what the message is about but I believe it will impact my life. She still comes at least once a day. I look forward to her coming. ~Kristian deTremaudan

Toucan Sighting - Yesterday, 7/8/09, in a parking lot near my home I spotted two toucans. This in itself is not too strange except this is Melbourne, Florida and toucans do not travel this far north. Anyway, it was an interesting sighting. ~ed

Snowy Owl and Hawk - Last year my girlfriend died of breast cancer right in front of my eyes. This started my quest to know why/where she went and everything about life after death. This year I married a childhood friend of hers. Just after my marriage at 11am I saw a white bird falling to ground right in front of me. I went near it and studied it for 5mins while it was lying on the ground. It was a big snowy owl! As I was about to touch it it got up and flew away. I only came to know after a month after I searched on net that it was a snowy owl and its significance as a messenger totem. I started honoring totem and started meditation. Soon after one day I got a red tailed hawk feather and 2 days later 3 cooper hawks started sitting on tree in my office. Whenever I call it appears magically in front of me. One day a tiny owl also appeared and sat 20 ft away from me while I was in the park. I started collecting feathers and every day learning more about healing. ~ankit verma

Visitation from Mocking Bird - I have had 4 days now of a mocking bird singing everywhere I go, day and night. Can you tell me what this means? Could it have something to do with tomorrow? I am scheduled to have a back surgery and am feeling afraid because my mother has been by my side during my last 5 surgeries and this will be my first surgery without her because she passed away last September. I know this mocking bird is a sign, and I'm hoping it is a good sign. (Note from Phylameana: Elizabeth, I wish you the very best outcome and speedy recovery from your back surgery tomorrow. Mocking bird is associated with your voice, if your mother was someone who used her voice to care for you then I would definitely see a connection, or perhaps mocking bird is a reminder for you to find your own voice in dealing with your health. Cardinal spirit - For 3 whole days cardinals built a nest right next to my bedroom window. Well let me tell you I've never heard any bird sound like that. Like God was calling. I was scared. Yeah me and I,m still shook up about those days when the baby cardinals were born next to me. I loved the sounds I heard Like never before. They were so clear and precise. Clean cut whistles with high octaves all night long. I thought birds was suppose to sleep in the night. These birds where wrestling for three nights with those babies. I was elated to hear the sounds like no other. I wanted to sleep because I have to be at work by 5:30AM, but they woke me up. The pitches were so loud like a speaker microphone. All types of sounds it was scary. Now I can appreciate it and loved it so much. I will look forward to it again. Can someone explain to me how can they have such a high octave like a Opera singer or them highest octave I ever heard. God is merciful on every species in this world. ~julang

Red Crowned Crane - In my dream I was just tending to animals in a home made zoo. When my complete attention was pulled to a cage in a corner my eyes were met by a Red Crowned Crane. I was stunned and amazed by the wisdom seemingly pouring out of the birds eyes. I was captivated. When I awoke I knew this was no ordinary dream and I set out on a course to understand about that Crane. I have learned a great deal I have in common with a bird that does not live in the area which I do. This was what perplexed me, I was under the impression our totem animals must live near us. I am wrong about this. The experience brought me to the reality of many animal totems. We have a specific totem for our total being and then we can have some for daily information or seasonal or for a specific event or occurrence in one's life. Accepting the animal's message will lead to the next message from yet another animal. Look, listen and remain calm is a most normal message. I've even been given the totem of the mouse as a guide. ~alyquickly

Owl and Dove - I was just released from the hospital after 7 days following a big surgery. I was alone, very sore but not afraid. (I know I have Native blood in me but other than a small curiousity about from who, I never delved into exploring it.) I was quite ill in the night but when I opened my eyes (I always sleep with a light on when I'm sick) there was an owl watching over me. I love birds but have always been afraid of them in a house yet this owl brought me a feeling of peace. Every time I'd open my eyes he was there, quietly watching me. More toward morning a dove came as well. Both birds were perched on our bed room furniture & my husband was working midnights. I was aware that I had become quite sick but these birds were very calming to me. I had been on prescription pain meds in the hospital but was only taking mild pain killers on this night so I'm certain these visions weren't med induced. Both birds stayed until morning but then when I awoke in daylight, they were gone. ~sandysummer
