How to Get a Band Sponsored
- 1). Write an introduction letter about your band. Include what you want to do with the sponsorship money and a few details about your band, such as what type of music you play and how many gigs you've had in the past year. The more popular you are, the easier it will be to get sponsors.
- 2). Inform the potential sponsors of what type of opportunity you're offering them in the letter. In other words, explain how you are willing to advertise for them, such as including information on promotional materials, adding their logos to your instruments, hanging a banner at your gigs or passing out product samples during your band's tour.
- 3). Request that each company allow you to send a presentation with all the details they would need to make a decision. Put this request at the end of your introduction letter.
- 4). Mail or email the introduction letter out to companies that might be interested in sponsoring your band. Research the companies to find out if they have ever sponsored artists before or choose industry-specific companies, such as music shops, instrument manufacturers or electronics stores. Your audience should be interested in purchasing the products or services offered by the companies you approach for sponsorship.
- 5). Develop a more detailed presentation of your proposal to send to companies that express interest. Explain in greater detail how you and your band can advertise and promote the company. Then, include information about your upcoming gigs and tours to demonstrate that you will be able to get information about the company to potential customers. Talk about what type of music you play and your audience. Then, state how much of an investment your band is looking for from the sponsor.
- 6). Send your detailed presentation to companies that request more information. Follow up with these companies after they receive your presentation to answer their questions and talk more about a potential sponsorship opportunity.
