- 2). Insert an SD memory card into the slot next to the batteries, and, when it clicks into place, slide the battery compartment cover shut.
- 3). Switch on the camera and set the date and time using the menu and func/set buttons.
- 1). Set the mode dial on the top of the camera to "Auto."
- 2). Line up your shot, then push the shutter button halfway down. This sets the focus. The camera beeps twice when it's in focus, and an indicator light next to the LCD screen blinks green.
- 3). Press the shutter button all the way down and, congratulations, you've taken your first photo with the SX100. The image is displayed on the screen for two seconds and stored on the memory card.
- 4). View your pictures by pressing the playback button on the back of the camera, which displays the most recent image. You can flick through your images by pressing the control dial on the back of the camera to the left or right.
- 5). Remove unwanted images using the erase button below the control dial.
- 1). Install the supplied software on your PC or Mac computer. Alternatively you can use a standard image handling application, such as Apple's iPhoto.
- 2). Connect the camera to the computer using the supplied USB cable, launch the software you want to use and press the playback button on the camera.
- 3). Use the direct transfer menu on the camera to select all images, just new ones, or individual shots.
- 4). Press the print/share button and your photos will be moved to your computer.
- 5). Select an image, then use the wallpaper option on the menu to transfer it to your computer and use it as the background on your desktop.
