An Animal in the Road
No one intentionally tries to hit an animal when they are driving but at some point in time while you are driving you will have to make a choice and hit an animal or cause an accident.
If you happen to live in the country or where there is not a lot of traffic then there will be wild animals traveling the roads.
An example that comes to my mind is a deer.
Several times you may see places that either has deer crossing signs or you know that there are deer that cross the roads at night.
If you are on a narrow road and the deer jumps out at you then you only have a couple of seconds to react with your vehicle.
The first thing that normally pops into your head is do not hit the deer and then there are the ditches on the side of the road that you want to avoid so hopefully you have time to break.
The headlights most times catches the deer in the eyes which is what makes them freeze.
If you do hit the deer there will be damage to your car.
Deer are solidly packing animals and you are normally broad side them.
Check your auto insurance policy so you know what your deductible is in case you are in an accident.
If it is too high then go online and look for free auto insurance rates and see what your premiums would cost if you changed it.
Another animal in the south that is usually found on the side of the road is a possum.
They cross the road at night and move slow or so you would think.
The one thing to remember about animals and driving is if it means that you may be in an accident if you were to swerve around them and there is not enough time to brake and stop then I hate to say it but you will most likely hit the animal.
This is one of the reasons why it is important to watch your speed and posted speed limits.
If you find yourself traveling down dark roads or back roads then be aware that animals are a part of things to watch out for and they are on the roads too.
This is why it is very important to know what is around you while you are driving.
