Wholesale Clothing Suppliers - 5 Wholesale Rules-of-Thumb to Abide to - Part 2
As a continuation from my previous article entitled '5 Wholesale Rules-of-Thumb to Abide to Part 1', I am going to elaborate further on the remaining 5 rules that we should, but not compulsory to put it in practice.
If you have missed the first 5 rules, you should search for it on EzineArticles for the prequel (part 1) of this article.
Basically, both parts of this article is combined to make a 10 rules-of-thumb that most sellers on the internet today will use, at some point of their internet business.
If you want to be a powerseller on eBay selling designer clothing, for example, you should definitely read on and apply these rules to practice.
Rule No.
6 The Power of Negotiation Besides being able to get supplies of products at a fairly reasonable price, being able to negotiate shipping costs can be a real saver most of the time.
At all times, we should try to negotiate CIF (Cost, Insurance & Freight) as well as DPP (Delivery Duty Paid) shipping terms with our suppliers.
FOB (Freight on Board) is the most common shipping method but we should always try to negotiate further as a better shipping terms relieves more risks off our shoulders.
Rule No.
7 Drop Shipping Most people might find drop shipping to be the ideal choice of supply to their online business.
However, can we really afford drop shipping, especially for new entrants to the market? The theory of drop shipping sure does sound great - someone taking care of packaging, wrapping and postage - but is this a viable method? Can we profit from this method? Drop shipping services can easily add up to 10% of your initial cost of the product itself, therefore diluting the net profit.
When you add in additional costs and fees, can you still maintain your profit margin? Choose drop shipping wisely.
Rule No.
8 Warehousing Alright.
Now that you have your supplies to sell, where exactly are you going to store them? How are you going to implement your asset management? Believe it or not, assets can go missing or perish, incurring great losses, if not well taken care of.
How will you manage your assets to make sure they do not perish or go missing? Think again.
Rule No.
9 Gain a Powerseller Status Besides aiming to earn profits through your online business, you should also try your very best to gain a powerseller status, for example, eBay powersellers.
Why is this important? Well, it's a fact that powersellers are able to command higher prices for their items than ordinary eBay sellers.
This means higher profits with the same amount of costs and effort.
Rule No.
10 Grow With a Website or eBay Store Once you begin selling through the internet, you should start planning for your business' growth.
How are you going to expand it to be able to earn more profits? One of the best way is to create your own website or set up an eBay store.
With a website and a store, you may appear to be more convincing to buyers as a serious seller.
Plus, by doing so, it makes potential buyers easier to look what they are looking for within.
As potential buyers browse through your store or website, links should be available to other pages or products to encourage potential buyers to fully surf your website, exposing them maximumly to all your products and offers.
