How to Tint Your Helmet

    • 1). Clean the eye shield on the helmet with glass cleaner. Wipe away any dirt or residue with a lint free cloth to create a smooth, clean surface.

    • 2). Fill the interior of the helmet with old newspaper. Wrap newspaper around the exterior of the helmet to protect the casing from any tint spray.

    • 3). Tape around the helmet frame using painter's tape. Tape around the back side of the eye shield to keep any tint from passing through to the other side. Place the helmet on a work surface with the eye shield facing up.

    • 4). Shake the tint spray can vigorously to thoroughly mix the chemicals contained inside. Hold the can 10-to-12 inches from the eye shield and apply an even coating over the surface. Avoid holding the can in one spot for too long as this can create puddles and inconsistencies in the finish. Allow the tint spray to dry for 24 hours.

    • 5). Remove all of the painter's tape and newspaper from the helmet. The helmet can now be used safely during your next ride.
