The Nokia N73, a 2006 smartphone manufactured by Nokia, features picture and video galleries, a music player, a Visual FM radio, RealPlayer, an IM client, a full web browser, a Microsoft Office document viewer, a PDF viewer, an Adobe Flash Lite viewer and some games. In addition to all these features, the N73 Music Edition has several music-specific features. Instead of the N73's "multimedia button," for example, the N73 has a button that starts the music player. - In addition to its 42 MB of internal memory, the Music Edition comes with a 2 GB mini-SD card for music, which allows users to store roughly 500 songs (or 30 CDs worth of music) on the card.
- If you want to match CD covers with the music you're hearing, configure the music player on the Music Edition, which--unlike the music player on the regular N73--supports album art (especially when syncing across from Windows Media Player) and Windows-style visualisations ("Oscilloscope" and "Spectrum").
- The N73 Music Edition has an improved control interface that allows you to select "Play," "Pause," "Stop," "Next" and "Previous" by simply pushing the phone joystick in the appropriate direction, rather than having to scroll through on-screen buttons for these controls and then select them, as on the regular N73.
- Although both the N73 and the N73 Music Edition have music players, on the Music Edition, the music player application stays in the background at all times--even when music is not being played. In the latest firmware versions, this application can be terminated, but doing so prevents users from activating the Music Edition remote control to start listening to music, until the application is started again by using the phone's keypad.
- The N73 Music Edition is only available in black.
- The Music Edition features integrated stereo speakers and an AD-41 adapter/stereo headset, which has a standard 3.5mm stereo connector embedded in its control unit.
- The N73 Music Edition features easy synchronization with Windows Media Player. With support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ and WMA, you can choose how you rip your tunes and play them.
- In addition to its 3.2 megapixel camera with a Carl Zeiss lens, the N73 has 20x digital zoom, a flash with red-eye reduction and autofocus. It also has Bluetooth, infrared and USB 2.0, and Nokia includes a USB cable in the sales package.
- The device also includes RealPlayer, so playing full-screen videos in MPEG-4 format is possible
- The phone is also a USB mass storage device, so you can simply drag and drop files onto the phone without using Nokia software.
