How to Assemble a Pali Paula Crib
- 1). Place the leg insert in the bottom of the crib leg. You may need to tap the insert with your rubber hammer to seat it completely. Place the caster in the insert. Gently tap the caster with a rubber hammer until it is securely seated. Stand the crib pieces upright.
- 2). Attach the headboard and footboard to the rails. Insert the curved fastener plate in the large holes on the inside of the rails. The fastener plate is a piece of metal that looks like a tube cut in half lengthwise with a hole in the middle. Insert the long Allen head bolts in the holes on each end of the headboard and footboard. The bolts will go through the holes in the end of the rails and through the fastener plate.
- 3). Place the plastic caps on the mattress support frame. The grooves on the caps will face the outside of the support on cribs with rectangular posts. On cribs with rounded posts, the grooves will face the inside.
- 4). Place the mattress support frame rails so the end of the posts aligns with the holes in the headboard and footboard legs. Use an Allen bolt and an Allen wrench to secure the pieces together. You will now have a baby crib without sides.
- 5). Attach the stationary side of the crib to the headboard by holding the side rail up to the headboard. Align the two bolt holes on the headboard with the two bolt holes on the side rail. Insert one bolt into each hole and tighten with a Phillips head screwdriver. Align the two bolt holes on the foot board with the two on the opposite end of the side rail. Insert one bolt in each and tighten.
- 6). Attach the drop side. Slide the pegs on the top of the drop side rail into the grooves on the front of the crib headboard and footboard. Pivot the drop rail and raise it to the top position. Snap the bottom of the rail in place. The drop rail should be straight up and down. Shake the side to make sure it is secure.
