How to Control Back and Body Perspiration
- 1). Rule out serious medical problems that may be contributing to excess perspiration of the back and body, by visiting your doctor. Ask about topical creams and other medications that he could prescribe to help control the problem. Lotions include brands Drysol and Maxim.
- 2). Wear clothing made out of breathable fabrics, such as cotton and linen. Certain sport clothing is made to be breathable by wicking moisture away from the body during exercise, so this may work for you also. Clothing made out of synthetic fabrics such as polyester and acetate do not breath well and can trap moisture on the back and other areas.
- 3). Speak to a dermatologist about botox treatments for excessive sweating. This method has been used successfully in the treatment of excessive underarm perspiration.
- 4). Take regular showers. Especially during warmer months, when sweating may be worse. Showering with antibacterial soap will help remove any residual odors from the sweat.
- 5). Apply over-the-counter sweating lotions to the affected areas. This may cause pores to become blocked, so try doing it once or twice per week at first, to see what happens.
