    • 1). Wash your face with a cleanser.

    • 2). Mix 1/2 cup of white sugar with 1/2 cup of almond oil and squeeze in the juice of one small lemon. Apply this homemade exfoliator to your face lightly and avoid rubbing it into skin. Rinse and do this three times a week to help lighten.

    • 3). Apply a facial lotion with a sun protection factor of 30 or more. To prevent your face from getting more tan, you need to ensure it is protected from the sun. This will also help the existing tan fade over a few days, as well.

    • 4). Use a foundation two shades lighter than your current facial skin color. Apply foundation to clean skin by dabbing on a small amount to your cheeks, forehead and chin, then spread it across your face with a cotton ball or foundation applicator.

    • 5). Apply a cool-toned blush in a lighter pastel pink shade. Avoid using colors that are warm or have gold undertones. These will only enhance a tan and leave you looking more tan. Brush blush onto the apples of your cheeks with a blush brush after applying foundation.

    • 6). Dip your powder brush into the loose powder and brush onto your face working carefully around your eyes to prevent it from getting in eyes. This will help hold makeup in place and add a slightly shimmery paleness to the skin to help lighten it.
