Guide Review - Fitness and Flying - Banglz Wrist/Ankle Bracelet Weights

I tried out Banglz as I am always looking for easy, transportable, and affordable items to bring with me on my travels and fitness items that fit the bill. Banglz seemed like a good fit - they are weights you can fasten around the wrist like a bracelet, or around the ankles and simply wear and go.

Banglz come in a variety of patterns, so you can choose one to suit your wardrobe. The ones I tried out had more of an 80s flair, so not for those afraid of electric pink. They were easy to fasten and remove and re-fasten through airport security - even with toting my two young kids.

I am not a fitness expert, so I can't vouch for whether in the long term these lightweight weights will really have a huge impact in toning my somewhat wobbly triceps or my sloppy soleus muscles, but they are easy to use, affordable (under $30), and forgiving for my somewhat wide ankles (they come with extensions that can be velcroed on to the weights.

On a flight returning home, I had the Banglz strapped to my ankles and had forgotten to take them off and they did not set off the airport security scanner, which is a plus, but because the fastener is velcro, they would have been easy to remove if they did.

For their ease of use, Banglz are great - even my 3 year old was able to strap one on his ankle after seeing mommy do so. They are a lot more fun and wearable than other wrist weights I own and have since abandoned. Again, I like that they are adjustable and have extensions to fit, ahem, the less slender wrist or ankle.

Would I wear them as bracelets to a cocktail party? No, probably not. But I would, and have brought them with me on more than one trip with my children in tow. So a bit of resistance and easy to use makes Banglz a nice little gift for the frequent traveler who doesn't want to use up precious carry-on luggage space with bulky fitness items.
