  4. Dehydration - This one can not be emphasized enough.
    Staying hydrated by drinking a minimum of 8 glasses of water each day is so important to good hemorrhoid health.
  5. Pregnancy and child birth - Not that you can avoid this one, but the increase in pressure on the abdomen increases the pressure on the anal veins, and then of course straining during the birth.
    Most hemorrhoids that occur during this period resolve on their own after child birth.
  6. Lack of exercise - Leading a sedentary lifestyle can make you more prone to hemorrhoids.
    In addition, if you spend a lot of time sitting this puts extra pressure on the rectal area.
  7. Stress - Being under excess amounts of stress is certainly hard on all areas of the body, but you probably didn't know that they can also be a contributor to hemorrhoids.
    Stress increases the blood pressure, and so the increase in blood pressure is added force on the blood in that area.
