How to Repair a Clear Raincoat
- 1). Place a few drops of dish soap onto a soft, wet cloth. Clean the area around the raincoat tear. Rinse the area with clean water and dry with a towel. Allow the coat to dry overnight.
- 2). Line up the edges of the tear so that there is no gap between the two sides of the tear. Place a layer of clear tape over the tear to hold the two sides together.
- 3). Turn the coat wrong side out.
- 4). Spread a layer of waterproof glue over the tear. Use a spatula to spread the glue evenly. Apply the glue to about 1/2 inch beyond the tear for greater stability. Allow the glue to dry overnight.
- 5). Remove the tape. Apply another layer of glue, if necessary, to strengthen the repair before wearing the coat again.
