PRIDE - Puerto Rican Initiative to Develop Empowerment
PRIDE (Puerto Rican Initiative to Develop Empowerment) is an educational, cultural and social organization formed by LGBT people of Puerto Rican heritage and their supporters.
PRIDE's missions are to promote Puerto Rican LGBT identities, both cultural and sexual; to advocate for issues fundamental to the LGBT community; to increase community visibility; and to provide a safe haven for discussion and expression.
Each year, the group honors New York City-area Puerto Rican LGBT leaders with its Pride Awards.
