Tumescent liposculpture assisted by Lipolite laser lipolysis is a gentler, kinder and absolutely safer technique to remove unwanted fat.
This technique has three important parts: Step 1: Tumescent fluid is used to bathe the areas to be treated.
Tumescent fluid is a very dilute mixture of saline with lidocaine (an anesthetic) and epinephrine (to close off the blood vessels around fat cells).
This important step adds additional time and effort on the surgeon's part but is well worth it for the patients.
The use of tumescent anesthetic minimizes bleeding during the procedure making it so much safer.
It also decreases bruising and leads to shorter recovery time.
Step 2: Liposculpture is performed with the use of very small "cannulas" which are metal tubes connected to a tube with suction.
These special tubes that now come as small as the tip of a pen have little holes that actually will pull fat out.
The use of smaller cannulas is a major advance in technology.
We no longer have to make large openings to insert the cannulas so the openings and eventually the scars left are very small.
In fact, we do not even need to close with stitches because the openings are so small.
Smaller cannulas allow us to deliver amazingly precise sculpting minimizing the risk for irregularities (lumpiness) and allows for more smooth results.
Also, with smaller cannulas, there is less trauma during the procedure which leads to less bruising and faster recovery.
Step 3: "Lipolite" laser lipolysis - is the latest in laser lipolysis (like Smart Lipo).
With Lipolite, a special tiny cannula with a laser tip is inserted in the openings made for liposculpture and the areas are heated using the laser.
This provides more coagulation so there is less bleeding, less bruising, faster recovery.
Another important advantage is that heating the skin during liposculpture will allow for better skin contraction.
For older patients at risk for loose skin after lipo, Lipolite is a major advance.
Tumescent liposculpture is the only real guaranteed way to actually remove unwanted areas of fat on your body instantly.
It is a very powerful technique that transform people's lives.
I have patients who go down 4 pant sizes within a month! Patients who were tired of doing tons of sit-ups, working out everyday yet can't seem to lose those pesky rolls of fat on the abdomen, love handles, or those annoying thigh saddle bags are coming in to take of these problem areas once and for all!
