How to Change the Boot Picture on a Garmin GPS
- 1). Create a boot screen image for your Garmin. You can create the image using an online splash screen generator, such as the one made available by GPS Data Team. The generator will create a file named "Splash_Screen.jpg." Save the file to your hard drive.
- 2). Plug the USB data cable into the charging port on your Garmin GPS. Plug the other end into a USB port on your PC.
- 3). Click the "Start" button and select "Computer." The Garmin will show up as a drive under "Devices with Removable Storage."
- 4). Open the Garmin drive and drag and drop the "Splash_Screen.jpg" file into the root directory. By default, Windows saves the file in the "Downloads" folder on the left side of the "Computer" screen.
- 5). Open the image viewer on your Garmin GPS and select the picture. Check the option to display the image at startup.
- 6). Turn off the GPS, then turn it back on again to display the new boot picture.
