  Choose your foundation. Remember liquid with liquid and powder with powder. If you're using a cream shimmer, then use liquid or cream foundation; if you're using a powder shimmer, then use a powder base to begin.
  
  
• 2). Apply foundation to your face, using fingertips or a makeup sponge or brush.
  
  
• 3). Blend well, making sure you have no visible lines or clumps, as the shimmer makeup will accent these when applied on top. If you are applying shimmer makeup to your eyes, apply foundation there as well.
  
  

Face

• 1). To apply shimmer powder makeup for an all-over effect on your face start at your temple and make a 3 shape, bringing it to your jaw bone. This technique highlights your face in the right areas.
  
  
• 2). Blend well, especially around your jawline, as you don't want to see visible lines.
  
  
• 3). If you opt to apply shimmer to your face, then do not apply it to your cheeks, as application to both face and cheeks will not create an all-over shimmer.
  
  

Eyes

• 1). Dot shimmer makeup in the corners of your eyes using a pointy eye makeup brush for a subtle effect. Do not blend.

  Highlight your brow bone by sweeping a light-colored shimmer just under your eyebrow with a small eyeshadow brush.

  Use a darker shade of shimmer makeup and sweep over your entire lid, stopping at the brow bone.
  
  

Cheeks

  For liquid or cream shimmer use your index finger to apply shimmer makeup in a C shape, starting from the temples and to the top of your cheekbones.
  
  
• 2). Blend to avoid visible lines, paying particular attention to your cheekbones.
  
  
• 3). Add blush just below the area with shimmer and blend with your fingers. For powders, do the same but with a powder brush.
  
  

Lips

• 2). Dot shimmer on the center of your lips, top and bottom.
