    Face Painting

    • Have a local artist donate his time to your carnival to paint faces. Inexpensive face paint can be purchased from costume stores or department stores around Halloween, and each packet of face paint will paint several faces. Charge a small fee for parents to have their child's face painted and choose simple designs for the children to choose from so that they can be done quickly, making it easy to paint several faces in a short time. In fact, you don't even need an artist to do the painting if the designs are simple enough almost anyone can fill the position.

    Bake Sale

    • Ask local parents or a local bakery to donate baked goods to your bake sale. Set up a table displaying all the baked goods and charge reasonable prices for the goods to lure people in. You can even offer small samples of the goods so that people can get a small taste before they make their purchase. Cookies, cakes, pies and brownies are all examples of delicious treats that you can sell to community members.

    Carnival Games

    • Plan simple carnival games for kids and adults to enjoy. Purchase party favors from a dollar store to give away as prizes. Charge 50 cents or a dollar to play the games. The prizes you give out will cost you far less than what you are charging for the game, which will make raising money with this idea almost effortless. You can have contestants throw a waffle ball at stacked empty soda cans or have them toss darts at inflated balloons.

    Raffle

    • Host a 50-50 raffle to increase your fund-raising efforts at your carnival. Sell raffle tickets for a dollar throughout the duration of the carnival. At the end of the carnival draw a ticket and announce who won half of the money that was collected through the sale of the tickets. Waiting until the end of the carnival to draw a winner will keep raffle ticket holders around and spending money until the end, and the chance to win money will lure people into buying tickets.

    Silent Auction

    • Ask local shops to donate goods and services to auction off at your carnival. Set up the goods and services on tables with sheets of paper for people to place their bids. Throughout the carnival community members can keep bidding in hopes of winning the goods or services that they are interested in. At the end of the carnival announce the winners and collect the bids.
