In fact, psychologists claim that having mood swings as a child is a normal part of growing up.

If a child show sudden changes in behavior or suffers from mood swings for a long period of time, it is known as childhood onset bipolar disorder, or COBPD.
The child will experience extreme high and low and the mood swing happens several times a day in a cyclic manner.
Usually the child will have low energy levels in the mornings and very high energy levels in the evenings.
Children suffering from COBPD have a high possibility of getting into other bipolar mood states.
They can either become passive or violent; sometimes they can exhibit both behaviors.
This type of mood swings is often hereditary in nature.
However, it must be pointed out that just because a child suffers from mood swings, it does not mean he or she is suffering from a disorder.
There are many factors that need to be taken into consideration.
Most importantly the environment in which the child is being brought up as it plays a vital role in the child's mental health.
Also, children need to have proper nutrition during their growing years as any vitamin or mineral deficiency can cause and imbalance or reduce the child's energy levels.
Besides this, if the child believes that he or she has an unappealing appearance, it can depress the child and lead to emotional problems, especially when the child is in company of other children.
If the child does not get enough sleep or sleep too much, it can cause mood swings in the child.
A child will become lethargic and irritable.
A child's mental health is directly connected to the way a child thinks and reacts.
So, if the child grows up in an unhappy family, has difficult parents or has a problem in school, it will cause temperament in the child.
If your child is suffering from extreme temper, it best to consult a specialist.
Getting emotional is not a disease.
Therefore, it cannot be cured.
It can only be managed.
