Blackberry Tour Review
After quite a long wait, BlackBerry Tour 9630 has finally launched worldwide. As an updated version to the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition, the BlackBerry Tour arrives with 3G feature and has enhanced itself in terms of design, performance, and features. The appearance of Tour greatly resembles to the hybrid of the BlackBerry Bold and the BlackBerry Curve 8900 and has integrated some of the outstanding features of these smart phones. When it comes to size, BlackBerry Tour 9630 is a bit larger compared to the Curve 8900. The 2.4" display screen that the Tour 9630 features is the same as the BlackBerry Curve. The user interface that Tour offers is an updated version to the Bold and the Curve, making it user-friendly option and easier to navigate. Users are allowed to customize the icons and it's even possible for them to organize them in folders. Just below the screen, there exists a menu shortcut, the Talk and End keys, a trackball navigator, and a back button.
With the existence of 35-key QWERTY keyboard, you can enjoy the messaging features as quickly as possible. Besides text-messaging, you can even have amazing internet browsing experience with QWERTY keyboard. Compared to Curve 8900, Tour keyboard features quite a better feel as well. The absolutely plastic-type feel that has been noticed as the most common complain from many Curve users has been completely eliminated from the BlackBerry Tour. However, the Tour keyboard still is not perfectly designed because the exterior keys are pretty tough to press. Moreover, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 arrives with a 3.2 MP camera with flash, 2x zoom, image stabilization, and auto focus. You're also allowed to record video as well as geotag photos by the help of GPS feature that comes inbuilt with this handset. However, we figured out that the picture quality of Tour is not as perfect as it should be in presence of image stabilization feature but the Tour still did pretty well in darker environment. When it comes to video quality, it is awesome and really impressive.
Some additional features arriving with the BlackBerry Tour 9630's latest design include mute and lock buttons on its top. Additionally, there is a Micro-USB port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a volume rocker on its very right side. This smartphone arrives with a tons of accessories, including a USB cable, a charger, 3 international adapters, a SIM card, a microSD card of 2GB, a swivel holster, and a software CD to name a few. Other general features include a smart dialing, speed dial, speakerphone, conferencing calling, text messaging, voice-activated dialing, and the multimedia messaging, of course. Moreover, BlackBerry Tour 9630 also supports Visual Voice Mail but you should pay some $3 per month before having access to this service. Although Tour offers 3G feature, it doesn't arrive with Wi-Fi service, but it's not Verizon missing out this feature as Sprint's version lacks Wi-Fi as well.
In nutshell, the BlackBerry Tour 9630 is quite wiser option compared to BlackBerry Curve and the BlackBerry Bold. The only drawback with Tour is that it doesn't features Wi-Fi but still, its pros overweigh the cons making it a better option to prefer.
