• Heavenly Ski Resort, on the state line between California and Nevada, looks out on Lake Tahoe and the towering peaks of the Sierra Nevada. South Lake Tahoe is the town closest to Heavenly. In addition to skiing and snowboarding in the winter, the area offers hiking and swimming during the summer. • Tahoe Seasons Resort, at the base of Heavenly Ski Resort, offers a location that allows you to roll out of bed and hit the ski slopes early. Tahoe Seasons is more than a mile from Lake Tahoe and the Nevada casinos. The resort activities include a pool, tennis courts, and shuffle board courts. Harrah's Lake Tahoe

• Harrah's Lake Tahoe is across the state line in Nevada and doubles as a full-fledged casino. All rooms are at least 500 square feet, and include a king bed or two queen beds, wireless Internet and on-demand TV. Most rooms have large windows overlooking either the mountains or Lake Tahoe. The Heavenly gondola, which takes visitors up to the ski resort and slopes, is less than ¼ mile from Harrah's door.
