    Security Camera Installation

    • 1). Decide the location in your home or business where you want the surveillance cameras to be installed. Position the cameras in key locations that are considered hot spots for theft. Popular locations in the home are within sight of expensive displays (of portraits or jewelry, for example), vaults, cash registers, entrances and exits. Make sure the locations of the wireless cameras are as high as possible to get more video footage of the area with fewer blind spots. The cameras can be mounted on walls, ceilings or the top of tall furniture.

    • 2). Use a pencil to mark a hole for each camera location that is being mounted. Remove the mount and use a drill to make the holes. Install anchors and screw the mount into the holes. Repeat the same process for every camera.

    • 3). Plug each camera into a power outlet.

    Setting Up the DVR Device

    • 1). Purchase a DVR system that consists of a monitor and hard drive and allows you to store large amounts of video data that can lasts for several months.

    • 2). Plug the cameras' wireless receiver into the DVR device so that video footage can be shown on the monitor.

    • 3). Test and make sure everything is working properly.
