    • 1). Remove the cover on the terminal box of the AC power generator. Use a screwdriver to undo the screws; lift off the cover to get to the three labeled terminals.

    • 2). Loosen the three terminal screws, or if there are terminal bolts, loosen them using a wrench. Don't remove the screws or bolts as you only need to feed the wires under them to wire your AC generator.

    • 3). Prepare the cable for wiring to your AC generator by removing 2 inches of plastic casing off the end of the cable using wire strippers.

    • 4). Use wire strippers to remove 1/2 inch of colored plastic off the ends of the three internal wires. One wire is green, another gray or white and the third black or red. Twist the exposed copper metal strands using your fingers so they stay together.

    • 5). Insert the copper metal strands on the end of the black or red wire under the terminal screw or bolt on the AC generator labeled "Pos" or "Hot." It may have the symbol "+" instead. Tighten the screw or nut.

    • 6). Insert the cooper metal strands on the end of the gray or white wire under the terminal screw or bolt labeled "Neu" or "Neg." Some generators may use the symbol "-." Tighten the screw or nut.

    • 7). Insert the copper strands on the end of the green wire under the terminal screw or bolt labeled "Gnd" or "T." Tighten the screw or bolt.

    • 8). Replace the cover on terminal box. Insert the screws into the screw holes and tighten. Connect the opposite end of the cable to the electrical equipment you want your AC generator to power.
