Shindaiwa T-25 Specifications
- The T-25 was a weed trimmer sold by Shindaiwa in the early '90s. A weed trimmer is a hand-held lawn maintenance tool with a long handle and a spinning cutter on the end, used to cut grass and weeds in areas that are hard to reach with a lawn mower.
- The Shindaiwa T-25 was powered by a 1.5-cubic-inch engine that generates 1.4 horsepower at 8,500 rpm. Its bore diameter was 1.3 inches, and its stroke length was 1.2 inches. The engine weighed 12.3 lbs. Its piston was made of forged aluminum, and it had one a chrome-plated cylinder.
- The T-25's engine utilized a TK brand carburetor, model DP10W, and it introduced air to the fuel through a primer. The engine used an oiled-foam element filtration system, and it had a duckbill fuel vent located in the fuel tank. The fuel tank was located underneath the engine, mounted via bungee. It held 24 oz. of fuel. Recommended fuel was unleaded regular, mixed with oil in a 40-to-1 ratio.
- The Shindaiwa T-25's engine started with a transistorized coil ignition with transistorized advanced timing and a minimum output of 18 kilovolts. The recommended spark plug was a Champion CJ-8, with a gap of .025 inches.
The engine engaged by way of a bonded clutch with two shoes and one spring. A one-piece muffler with three attachment points dampened engine noise. - The T-25 had a loop front handle, without handlebars but with a grip-mounted throttle. It also had a grip stop switch. For these latter two, a screw locking agent was recommended. The trimmer weighed 12.3 lbs. in total.
