Panic attacks are a serious problem for hundreds of thousands of people every year.

However, neither of these practices can prevent the attack once it has been triggered.

The first direct method is through the deep breathing technique.
This is often used to treat them when they are in progress, as the breathing exercises can cut down on the severity of the attacks, helping the sufferer to recover quickly.
It can also be used during the onset of the attack to help prevent it spreading to the physical symptoms, again providing relief for the sufferer.
Slow breathing methods from the abdomen will also help the person suffering to treat them and recover after the event.
Another sound method to use is to look at meditation and sleep CDs, which can help put you onto a calm and passive state of mind which is ideal for preventing panic attacks.
This will ensure that you do not suffer the stress which can trigger an attack.
