Considerations

• Biaxin may cause birth defects and should not be used by women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. People who are allergic to erythromycin or similiar medications such as azithromycin should not take Biaxin.
  
  

Solution

• Side effects can often be relieved by adjusting the dosage of Biaxin. In the case of severe diarrhea, immediate medical attention is required.
  
  

Warning

• Patients who suffer from kidney disease may need an adjusted dose of Biaxin to prevent inflammation of the kidneys.
