Life Fitness
I've come to learn over the years that there is more to being fit than just being physically fit.
"Physical fitness" is just the tip of the iceberg.
What we need to strive for is "life fitness".
The best way I can describe this would be a state where all of the issues that affect our lives are well tuned and running smoothly together.
I would include "mental fitness", a feeling that I'm mentally sharp and focused.
I'm sure there are times when you feel like you're "in the zone", when you think quickly and clearly.
I experience these times and would call them "mental fitness".
"Relational fitness" plays a huge part in our overall "life fitness".
I'm trying to surround myself with people I care about, people who are successful, and those who bring something positive to my life.
I'm sure you'll agree that there are people in our lives who just seem to drag you down and leave you feeling drained emotionally and mentally.
I'm trying to weed them out of my life.
I have to include "financial fitness".
This is when you are financially comfortable.
By this you don't have to be rich or living extravagantly, but, you aren't worrying about every penny and you're meeting all of your needs.
You may even have the ability to bless others who aren't as fortunate.
I personally find that you can't bless anyone more than the blessing that comes back to you.
"Spiritual fitness" would have to be high on my list, if not on top.
When I'm living a life of faith and relying on God for guidance and provision, life just seems to go more smoothly.
I also tend to have more purpose and self-worth.
I believe that it should be our goal to achieve "life fitness", a point where our body, mind, spirit, finances and relationships are all working in concert with one another.
Let us all take a close look at our "life fitness" and see if there are things that we can do differently to bring it all together.
