Lessons in Card Making
Almost all of us had an experience with making cards.
How sure am I? You, see, every school never missed on putting the card making activity in their curriculum.
They believe that more than enhancing the creativity of the children.
The art of card making is teaching these students a lot more than that.
It teaches them a lot of values and skills that they could use once they are already in the real world.
For one, making cards enhance our critical thinking.
When we are coming up with a design, we are not only considering its aesthetic value.
We are also considering if this design would be feasible given the resources and time available.
While we are also in the process of conceptualizing our design for our card making project, we should think about how we should go about it.
We are also trained to think about the procedures and the materials that we would use to make this concept design a reality.
In the same way, it also brings out the resourcefulness in us.
Most of the time, we are told that if you want to give someone a perfect gift but you don't have enough budget to do so, then card making could do the trick.
This is why card making is a challenge for us to come up with a beautiful card without having to spend that much.
In this case, we have to rule out buying materials from the craft store and simply look for some viable materials that we could recycle at home.
In this light, card making is also teaching us to recycle and take care of our environment.
It is one of the many ways by which we could reuse and recycle the things or stuff that we are about to throw away.
Admittedly, paper forms a large part of the human waste in the whole world.
If we are to come up with other means by which we could use these papers again, then it would be a big sigh of relief for our environment.
And of course, last but definitely not the last, card making brings out the thoughtfulness and love in our heart.
It is one of the grandest ways of showing our affection to the special people in our lives.
The fact that we are willing to spend this much time and energy and we are willing to submit ourselves to the hassle that comes with card making is something that anyone would appreciate.
