Alternative Home Remedies for Cancer
- To combat your cancer, search for fresh foods that have been organically grown, Organic produce and meats can help you avoid unnecessary toxins. Check to make sure that your meats haven't been treated with routine antibiotics.
According to "Prescription for Natural Cures" by Mark Stengler and James F. Balch, when your liver is forced to process toxins, it produces cancer-causing free radicals. Search for foods that contain antioxidants---particularly glutathione---to counteract this process. Find glutathione in avocados, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, asparagus, walnuts and cabbage. Eat one of more of these foods every day.
Another source of antioxidants, raw fruits and vegetables also contain high amounts of fiber that will help to flush toxins out of your system. In addition to raw fruits and vegetables, whole grains are also high-fiber foods. Vitamin E is another antioxidant that you should add to your diet. Find vitamin E in nuts, seeds and wheat germ.
Balch and Stengler also say that in areas of Japan where people drink large quantities of green tea, the incidence of stomach, esophageal and liver cancer is lower. In addition, green tea has been shown to be beneficial to the immune system. Drink at least one glass a day.
Avoid processed foods, junk foods, dyes and chemical additives. In addition, avoid products that contain refined sugar, as sugar can suppress your immune system, which is needed to work toward fighting the cancer.
Chrystle Fielder, author of "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Natural Remedies," says to avoid saturated fat from high-fat meats and rich dairy precuts. These products can promote insulin resistance, which could promote cancer growth. - In addition to changing your diet to help eliminate your cancerous cells, you can also try supplements. Balch and Stengler suggest the herb astragalus, as a study at the University of Texas Medical Center found that astragalus restored the white blood cells of people with cancers. As a matter of fact, some of the cells were so healed that they actually worked better than the cells of cancer-free patients. Take 1,00 mg or 4 ml of a tincture three times a day.
Take curcumin as well. Curcumin, which comes from turmeric, has several different anti-cancer effects. Take 400mg three times daily on an empty stomach.
In addition to astragalus and curcumin, take vitamin C to combat your cancer. Take 5,000 to 10,000mg in divided doses daily. Too much vitamin C could result in diarrhea, so you might want to build up to this high amount to avoid unwelcome side effects.
