You have to find radio airplay time if you want to be heard, and we're not just talking the local college campus. Trick is called promotion. Now that does not mean that you have just your press kit in an envelope with a demo and hope they take pity on you. You may call the station and they give you a standard step, "Send it and if we like it we'll put you in the rotation." After several months, and not your music, you automatically think you're not worthy.

First, do not buy it. You are one of hundreds, thousands, perhaps even depending on your city. Your disc will probably end up in the trash, or, more enterprising DJ's, on Ebay for one cent CD sale. If you want to be heard, and potential sales, you need to stand out from the crowd, and in this jewel of article I will show you five (5) Knock 'Em Dead ways to do just that!:

# 1 - Get your CD in the right arm. Intern that is too busy to get coffee or typing up a report the head of the station would not be the one making the decision airplay. Therefore, finding out who is the head honcho is in that department and the relationship of them. If the club you play for the payments or you have a show coming up to offer the stations
tickets a href="/links/?u= http://www.ticketfront.com /"> http://www.ticketfront.com to give the listeners. Now keep in mind you can not give tickets for employees, because it's illegal, and called for a bribe, but you can offer free giveaway items to your target audience.

# 2 - If you have a station in your pocket, and then decrease titles. Let them know that WABC is playing his music, and it becomes a great response.

# 3 - Make genuine friends in the business. If you have a disc jockey that you received in the order of rotation, and like the sound, to get acquainted with them. Find out why they enjoy it and see if they had not received any responses from listeners. If they do not ask if perhaps they might Q and its customers about your music so you feel for your target audience. This is a good idea to ask for their testimonial or quote if they are well known in your area, if you know them personally. People helping people. It is a fact, so if you treat your area disc jockeys, as the breath of life, and man, not the dollar signs, this step in the door. Another good source is club owners. If they play their music and fans nuts ask them to say a few words about your sound that you can pass along potential sites, but not necessarily sit down to drink with them. Ask them about the picture of him and a woman and two children for the Magic Kingdom. Not fake, but really interesting.

# 4 - Network. Find out if you know someone (or someone they know) has a connection with the music stations. Remember the six degrees of separation - you're only six people know of anybody on the planet, and that includes managers, concert promoters and record execs. The trick is it takes a lot of work and time, but if you're serious, it is so worth it.

# 5 - Go local, state, national. I do not think you're going to miss your local and state, and the next Matchbox twenty. It does not work this way. Start small and then get big.
