Mammoth Mountain is unquestionably one of the finest alpine skiing mountains in the world. A seasonal average of over 353 inches of snow falls onto the 11,053 foot summit, making the entire 3,500 acres of skiable terrain enjoyable for all. And with a snowfall report like this Decembers, with more new snow on the way, its no wonder Mammoth vacation lodging is beginning to sell out for the holidays. According to City Concierge, an Internet-based local California resort reservation and concierge company, the better cabin rentals are already gone. The slow economy from the past few years had forced people to wait to the last minute to book their vacations, as they didn't know if they even had a job and if bargains were to be had. However, with the recovering economy, the abundant snowfall and the lack of snow at other resorts, last minute planning is no longer the way to go to ensure the greatest possible choices. Prices on lodging are also holding steady.

Four new restaurants are on the books for December openings, and the many lodging providers all have smiles as the rush of people wanting to recreate in Mammoth this holiday and into January have created more hours and work for their employees helping to turn around the local economy.
