€We, at Suffolk Latch Company, are delighted to announce that we are working on hand forged black door ironmongery, especially the gothic door handle, tudor door handle and monkey tail door handle that will sit straight,€ said Carl Benson, the founder and the Managing Director of Door Ironmongery UK, Suffolk Latch Co.

When asked to tell in detail about the hand forged door handles that will sit straight the founder and Managing Director said, €The hand forged door handles are pretty old issue and we are glad we could address it. The hand forged Gothic, Tudor or Monkey Tail door handle are pretty expensive door ironmongery, but it's the fitting that is more pain than the cost of the handles per se. The handles start dropping no sooner they are fit. But instead of working on new design of handles we spent our time trying to figure how the handles could sit properly without coming off. After all we have a huge range of door handles to complement our other ironmongery range and how can we be happy by supplying a hand forged product that eventually fails? We would never like to have our customers come with a bad experience.

We managed to work with our design partners and evolved at solution for the slipping door handles. In fact it was simplicity of the design itself. What we did was we arrived at a thin spring solution and the spring will be inbuilt in the handle. And yola it works and the spring is a strong and sturdy enough solution to be used on a mortice lock which is not springed.

We are working on the spring technique and God will we should make the new range of hand forged black door ironmongery available by the end of 2011. We shall keep you all updated about the same. So visit our website regularly.€

He further said, €For a preview of the products take a look at our website links. We showcase entire product range we made in the black door ironmongery as well as hand forged ironmongery and also complement the site with blogs about door ironmongery to help our site visitors. Our range of products includes front door ironmongery, antique black door furniture, black door furniture, iron door furniture, black iron door furniture, iron window door furniture, wrought iron door furniture, hand-made T hinge (or tee hinge), thumb latches, etc.€

€At Suffolk Latch Co., we develop online tools that would help site visitors including our valued customers and amateur joiners in simple DIY tasks such as latch or knob fitting jobs, etc. I encourage site visitors to feel free and give any ideas for improvement. You can always visit the site http://www.suffolklatchcompany.co.uk or talk to a sales team 01787 277277 or even request details about the door ironmongery product range we have via mail info@suffolklatchcompany.co.uk,€ said the MD and signed off.An age old problem has finally been solved. Are you one of the many people who have with good intension, gone out and purchased yourself a hand forged Gothic, Tudor or Monkey Tail door handle, spent good money getting it fitted, only to find that in just a few short weeks the handle slowly starts to drop, and eventually the thing is hanging 45 degrees.

Finally when you have had enough you call customer care ( Ha Ha ) and you get one of the following answers. € Sorry sir it appears that jour guarantee period has run out, and is there anything else I can do for you, have a nice day€. Or alternatively you get my favorite € Clearly sir you have fitted a mortice lock / handle with a weak spring, I recommend fitting a lock with a stronger spring, is there anything else I can do for you, have a nice day€.

Before bringing on this new range of door handles, I spent a lot of time talking with the leading lock manufacturers in the UK with the intension of building a mortice lock with a far stronger spring mechanism, but to my surprise there was a reluctance to go down this path.

I was very aware that my site required a range or door handles to compliment the existing range of hand forged black door ironmongery, but I was not happy with supplying a product that would inevitably fail and certainly create a bad customer experience.

The eventual solution was simplicity itself. Working with our design partners we manage to manufacture a thin spring solution that was built into the handle itself. The spring prove to be strong and robust enough to be used on a unsprung mortice lock.

With a bit of luck this new range should be available by the end of the year. Keep an eye on our web site for updates.
