I am Excited about Jesus

Remember, we're addicted to comfort and ease. Mark 10:46: Then they came to Jericho and as he was leaving Jericho with his disciples and a great crowd, Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, a son of Timaeus, was sitting by the roadside. v. 47: And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, saying, Jesus, son of David, have pity and mercy on me now! I like that part. Some of us need to add some "now" to the end of our prayers.

There's one of the Psalms where David prayed: Lord, send prosperity now! Now listen to this. The poor guy is blind and he's just asking Jesus to have pity and mercy on him. Mark 10:48: And many severely censured and reproved him, telling him to keep still, but he kept on shouting all the more, you son of David, have pity and mercy on me! v. 49: And Jesus stopped and said, call him. And they called the blind man, telling him, take courage! Get up! He's calling you. v. 50: And throwing off his outer garment, he leaped up and came to Jesus. v. 51: And Jesus said, what is it that you want me to do for you?, And he said, Lord, that I might receive my sight. v. 52: And Jesus said to him, go your way; your faith has healed you. And at once he received his sight. Now, here's what I have to say about it: Everybody told blind Bartimaeus to be quiet. Man, have I ever had people tell me to be quiet in my life. Some of you don't understand that when I first stepped out to do this, I lost every friend I had because in the circles I traveled in, women didn't do -- I don't know that anybody did what I'm doing but women especially didn't do it and I literally lost all my friends. You have to understand that if you're going to be all that God wants you to be, it may not always be popular but eventually things will come full circle. You may have to give up a few friends in the beginning but then you'll end up with more than you know what to do with before it's all over. I'm not lacking for friends now. Blind Bartimaeus just wanted Jesus to touch him and everybody said: Be quiet! Be quiet! So many people fall radically in love with Jesus and people right away say: You're too fanatical.

Joyce Meyer Ministries reminded you that you need to be quiet. Don't be so excited. You're overly excited. You're emotional. Why is it okay if we go to a football game and get overly excited and emotional, rant and rave, scream and yell but nobody can be excited about Jesus? I am excited about Jesus and I don't care who knows it!
