Adidas Adicross Golf Shoes
There's a new addition to the world of golf shoes, actually it's a new addition to the growing list of crossover shoes - golf course to street: the Adidas adicross Street Golf Shoes. I received my pair some three months ago and found them to be everything the blurb claims them to be. For starters, the shoes are strongly constructed with leather uppers and composition, spikeless soles. They are lightweight, comfortable and I even found them to be good for driving in.
Good looks? Yes, that too; they look like an upscale tennis shoe and look as good with a pair of jeans as they do with a designer pair of golf slacks and, of course, there's that iconic Adidas triple stripe; on my pair they are pale green, which took a bit of getting used to, but that's just me. The green shoe strings? nope! Fortunately the come with two sets of strings: one to match the accent (fluorescent green), and white - white is good.
The practicalities: tough, great grip and stability, secure on those sometimes wet, grassy slopes, good traction on the tee box, and oh so comfortable to walk in both on the course and off - nice and cushiony, but not so much so as to be squishy. No, they are not waterproof, but a couple of applications of mink oil will soon fix that. Will they make you play any better? Probably not but so what? I love these shoes. I wear them for much more than just for golf. In fact, I prefer them to regular tennis shoes.
The Adidas adicross golf shoe combines the iconic Adidas styling with full-grain leather for a rich look and feel.
The upper is both lightweight and durable, while the soft, spikeless outsole provides traction, comfort and off-course versatility. The spikeless outsole delivers superior traction with 124 strategically placed traction lugs of varying size for a secure grip in all playing conditions, with textured synthetic toe-cap that's super-durable and improved abrasion-resistance.
Adidas adicross Street Golf Shoes are inspired by classic Adidas styles and colors but integrated into the golf community so you can now wear your favorite street shoes on the golf course. The spikeless outsole provides traction, comfort and off-course versatility so your favorite street shoes can also be your favorite golf shoes. Originally dubbed the adiStreet - now the adicross - it's just cooler that way!
Full grain leather uppers provide a rich look and feel to a classic Adidas inspired design. Each pair of spikeless golf shoes includes two shoe lace options - tonal and contrast. This style of street shoes has been an iconic Adidas look since the 70's and that classic court style has been re-engineered to be a highly versatile spikeless golf shoe.
Perhaps the best feature of the Adidas adicross is its pricing: $90. And, when you've been used to paying upward of $150 for a decent pair of golf shoes, that's a nice price indeed; and they make great gifts too. You can purchase them at sporting goods stores or you can buy online at the Adidas Golf website.
