Weight Loss Myths ExposedThis Will Shock You

Everywhere you look you have experts talking about this and that about weight loss. You are told not to eat fat then you are told fat is good for you. Carbs are bad, but some carbs are good. Its all a bunch of garbage if you ask me. Because what these so called experts really are not talking about is the reason why they are saying what they are saying. Remember this one thing right now, everything works, but everyone is different.

Right now I am going to talk about some of the most prevalent myths in the weight loss industry and give you the reasons why.

Myth #1: Heavy weights for women will give them big muscles. This couldnt be further from the truth. Women will never have as big muscles as men because they do not produce enough testosterone as compared to men. This is the main muscle building hormone in men and that is why most carry more muscle mass. Women need to lift heavy weights because it is so good for them and the body. It has been shown to prevent osteoporosis and can increase metabolism.

Myth #2: Light weights with high reps will get you cut. Again, this a garbage statement. On a physiological level, lifting light weights with high reps will get you a good pump in the muscle you are working, but it will do nothing to get you cut. The only thing that I can think of is it will burn slightly more calories because you are performing more work.

Thats about it, but the notion to focus only on high reps to get lean is wrong. You need to lift medium to heavy weights to preserve your muscle mass while you are eating a low amount of calories. This will help preserve that muscle mass so your body wont break it down to use as fuel.

These are just 2 of the big myths I see on a daily basis. There are more I will talk about, but that is for another article.
