    Checking In

    • On an American Airlines flight it is recommended that you arrive 90 minutes prior to the departure of your flight if you are checking in luggage and 60 minutes prior to departure if you are not checking in any luggage. You must also arrive at the departure gate 15 minutes prior to flight departure to retain your seat.

    Security Checkpoint

    • When traveling on an American Airlines flight you will also need to go through a security checkpoint. At the security checkpoint, you will need to present your boarding pass along with a government issued photo ID.

    Restricted Baggage Items

    • When traveling on American Airlines there are also several items that you are not allowed to have in your luggage or in your carry-on bag. These restricted items include alcoholic beverages, ammunition, batteries, cutting instruments, defense sprays, explosives, firearms, dry ice, flammable liquids, lighters, gasoline-powered tools, personal care items, pressure containers, self-heating meals, and self-inflating life jackets,
