    • 1). Turn the shoes around to the back. Look at the high top portion, just above the heel. You will see a white 2 and 3 shape in geometric font on top of each other. There should be a small 1/4 inch gap between these numbers. Most fakes do not have this standard gap.

    • 2). Turn the shoe to the side and look at the blue embroidered Michael Jordan figure on the side. Look at the hand of the figure not holding the basketball. Original 1995 to 1996 shoes made his fingers indistinguishable. The 2000-2001 shoes made four of his fingers detailed in a slight web shape. Most fake shoes make his fingers too long or make his hand look too angular and unnatural.

    • 3). Look at the tag on the tongue of the shoe. The tag should say "JUMPMAN/JORDAN" or "JUMPMAN/JAM".

    • 4). Turn the shoes over and look at the carbon fiber sole. The carbon fiber sole should have horizontal ridges in light gold with two large blue spots on them. One blue spot should be a horse-shoe shape by the heel, and the other blue spot should be by the toe and look like two connected hills. The blue spots should have a ridged texture, with smaller ridges than the majority of the sole. Most fakes do not have these details.

    • 5). Lift the tongue of the shoe and look at the inner sole of the shoe. It should be black with a blue Air Jordan figure by the heel. Most fakes do not have this detail.
