When you choose your images, you need to know that you're not searching for perfect studio moments - just something simple that will convey emotion and memory. A photo with a smiling child will be much better than the usual stiff studio portrait.

Choose an image that's sharp, in focus, and that has nice lighting around the subject.

Spontaneous-looking snapshots are great. The subject's individual personality will come through without it looking false or posed.

Another good way to be original is to have the invites made by hand. You may think this a laborious process that will require much effort and time. In truth it's a fun activity, especially if you have access to some help from the kids.

Spend an afternoon with a few youngsters and their favorite arts and crafts supplies: paste, glue, glitter, ribbon, some cute stencils and rubber stamps (and ink).
