Any avid fishermen or woman knows that the fish are biting the best when it is cloudy, rainy and windy.
Although all of us would sit in this horrible weather just to get a bite many of us do not need to.
Now even the most hard core fishermen can stay warm and dry while fishing if they use a bivvy.
Every year my buddies and I go on a fishing trip where we find a place to camp and then fish from dawn until after dark.
We always come home wet and cold from standing on the banks all day.
This is when I heard about the bivvy style of tent and decided to try it out.
I never regretted my decision and everyone in my group was jealous and wanted to try it out.
There are many different kinds of bivvys and the kind to get depends on what it will primarily be used for.
Some are designed to protect against the wind but can only keep someone inside dry from a light rain.
Others are waterproof and designed to protect one against heavy rains.
The bivvy that I use is waterproof and can also withstand high winds.
It is great because now I do not have to watch the weather before fishing because I know I can just set up my bivvy! Another great feature of the bivvy is that it keeps out nasty bugs using a screen that comes down in front.
But the size and features that each bivvy has will determine the price.
Some bivvy's come with a screen and accessories such as a bivvy mat or magnet while others have nothing.
They also make ones that only have a little door and others that do not have a door at all.
Some bivvy's that are available are very small that only one person can sit in them while others are big enough for two people or for one person to put a bed in.
The bivvy that I take fishing is only big enough for one person, which works out great because then nobody is able to fish right by me when I have found a hot spot.
The bivvy is big enough though that I hope to be able to take my son fishing soon so he can experience how fun a fishing trip can be.
