How to Convert a Canon FD Lens to a Fit Minolta X-Ga

    • 1). Get a Canon FD to Minolta lens adapter at any camera store. It'll cost approximately $40-50 (as of 2009). All Minolta lenses have the same SR mount.

    • 2). Place the adapter onto the Minolta camera. The adapter should fit perfectly onto the camera mount.

    • 3). Position the Canon FD lens onto the adapter and twist to lock into place the same way you would normally mount a lens.

    • 4). Meter using the "stop-down mode". In other words, take the light meter reading with the lens aperture set at the same position as it'll be at when you take the photo. The adapter will not allow you to control the aperture of the lens through the camera body.
