How to Connect My DTV Converter to a TV Without Coaxial Connections
- 1). Check the television to see if you have A/V (audio/video) jacks on it. These are red, yellow and white jacks. If not, skip to Step 4 or Step 5.
- 2). Connect one end of the RCA cable to the back of the DTV converter box using the "OUT to TV" RCA jacks. Match the colors of the connectors with the corresponding jacks.
- 3). Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the television using the "IN" jacks on the TV. Match the colors again.
- 4). Use a TV balun (transformer) that features a coaxial connection on one end and two metal connectors (TV screws) that fit under the two screws of the television (300 ohm twin lead) on the other end, if this is the only input on your television. Place the balun on the coaxial cable and unscrew the VHF screws on the TV enough to place the TV screws in place and then tighten.
- 5). Use an adapter (coaxial 75 ohm to 3.5 mm) that features a coaxial connection on one side and a 3.5 mm input jack on the other end, if this is the only input on your TV. Screw the adapter to the coaxial cable and then plug it in the "External Antenna" jack on your television.
