Perhaps you failed to eliminate credit card debt using several debt relief programs available to you. Why? I am almost always accurate when I argue that you end up lapsing, doing the same things that got you in trouble in the first place. What is different now? If the tension of living with unwieldy debt has defeated you, you are ready to approach debt relief programs with a new vigor. You are, it seems, not alone. Literally millions of others share the same predicament you now face. What separates you from the crowd, however, is that you are ready to ask for legitimate help to work your way out of the problem once and for all times

When you have compounded credit card debts, the only reasonable thing to do is seek out the objective assistance of people who will work with you to solve the problem. You are about to enter into a process not attend an event. Don't expect instant relief unless you want to be defeated. Remember, you are changing your total approach to your financial life and that doesn't happen overnight. You can no longer deny the problem but must acknowledge it without frills or omissions. You must also make some hard decisions about the quality of your debt; some debts are worth keeping if they are manageable and provide some personal or family benefit like the mortgage on your home. Now, in consultation with the professional you prefer to work with, settle on a strategy for credit card debt relief and stick to that strategy no matter what. I discuss several options below.

Debt Consolidation Loans

One reason that credit card debt places so great a strain on you, possibly the most important reason, is the high interest rates the credit card companies charge. It seems nearly inconceivable to be able to make a dent in the principal let alone meet interest payments. Debt consolidation is a technique that rolls up all of your credit card debt into a single, low-interest loan payable over time. This reduces your interest rate, thereby allowing you to make a serious indentation into the principal with every payment. You can often pay down all your credit card debt in between 18 and 36 months. Now you make a single payment on a single, manageable debt.

Debt management

Debt management is a process that makes a lot of sense if you cannot obtain a debt consolidation loan. The debt management firm will examine all of your debt and negotiate a payment plan with your creditors that assures your paying down the principal. You make a single payment to the debt management firm who, in turn, distributes that money to your creditors. Your single payment is significantly lower than the total of minimum payments you had to make on your credit cards and you can now afford those necessary payments like utilities and housing.

Debt Counseling

Often, but not necessarily, debt management companies also engage in debt counseling, a practice in which your financial situation is analyzed and recommendations are made to change your approach to your financial life.

Debt negotiation along with debt counseling is frequently the fastest legal way to achieve credit card debt relief. It is a way to completely avoid bankruptcy.
